Insurance (Condition & Value)

This type of survey is performed and is usually requested by an insurance company to determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk.  They are interested in the structural integrity and safety for the vessels intended use.  Most insurance companies require a survey on older boats.  Also, they want to know the vessel's fair market value.  Normally, no sea-trial or haul-out is required.

Insurance Survey

$19 per foot in the water up to 40'

$21 per foot out of the water up to 40'

$23 per foot in/out of the water if required by insurance up to 40'

$100 additional charge for second trip if in the Jacksonville surrounding area.

All rates are quoted in U.S. Dollars (USD).

Check, Zelle, wire transfer or cash are accepted as method of payment only.

30' to 39'        - $26.00 per foot
40' to 49'        - $30.00 per foot

The above rates are based on a survey within 50 miles of the Jacksonville surrounding area and may vary due to the year and condition of the vessel.

Payment is due at the time of survey unless other arrangements have been made.

The survey rates include condition and overall operation of the vessel.  This covers structural integrity, electrical systems, propulsion systems, fuel system, other machinery, navigation equipment, miscellaneous on-board systems, cosmetic appearance, electronics, and overall maintenance.  The vessel is hauled out of the water for a bottom inspection of the hull, shafts, propellers, rudders, thru-hulls, etc.  (Haul-out charges are the responsibility of the party requesting the survey).  Following the bottom inspection a sea-trial will be performed.

The survey report will be transmitted electronically in a PDF file within three (3) to five (5) working days from the date of survey.

Survey fees are based on the published overall length of the vessel (LOA).

It is highly recommended to have the propulsion and auxiliary engines inspected by a qualified engine mechanic.

I perform compression tests on Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury and Honda outboard's  only.  $75.00 per outboard.
